BAUME&MERCIER • SHOGUN •1995
An absolutely wild creation from the early 1990s — the Baume & Mercier Shogun. It features a stepped 34mm steel case, a five-link brushed tiered bracelet, and a beautifully aged 18K yellow gold fluted bezel. This one runs on a quartz movement and, unusually, comes with a rare champagne-colored dial rather than the more typical white.
Easily one of the most out-there designs I’ve come across. The Shogun looks like something out of a digital fever dream — not AI-generated, but clearly influenced by the late-80s digital aesthetic, full of sharp angles and pixel-like geometry. It plays tricks on the eye in the best way possible, offering a visual experience that feels both retro and futuristic.
