VACHERON CONSTANTIN • DOUBLE SIGNED • AUTOMATIC
Early 1950s: automatic movements are not yet the norm, and at Vacheron Constantin production remains limited. You can feel it immediately at the heart of this watch: the calibre 477/1, a bumper (hammer) automatic produced over a very short period (1950–1952) — mechanically, that alone points to extremely small numbers.
Then there is the line that changes everything: Türler on the dial, alongside Vacheron Constantin Genève. Türler is a major Swiss house founded in 1883, established in Zurich from 1907, one of those rare retailers whose name could appear on certain dials — a practice reserved for a handful of addresses and produced in confidential quantities.
The result is a Vacheron in 18k yellow gold (34 mm), with a champagne dial showing a natural patina, applied indices, and an overall balance that feels both refined and coherent. But above all, it is a watch that carries its history in plain sight: Geneva + Zurich, manufacture + retailer, and a movement produced over just two years. That precise combination is what makes these double-signed pieces so difficult to encounter today.
