In the late 1980s, Piaget produced, outside of any commercial catalogue, highly symbolic presentation watches intended for an extremely limited circle.
 
This 18k yellow gold watch is a striking example.
 
Its mother-of-pearl dial, bearing the portrait of President Félix Houphouët-Boigny, is set with applied diamond hour markers. The tonneau-shaped case with screw-down back and the integrated gold bracelet are fully set with diamonds, totaling 418 diamonds, enveloping the watch in a continuous brilliance emblematic of Piaget’s joaillerie language of the 1980s.
 
Powered by a Piaget cal. 8P quartz movement, this piece fully embraces its identity as a jewellery watch, conceived as a symbol of prestige as much as a timekeeper.
